Okame Flowering Cherry truly is a great choice and adds beauty to any landscape. This special tree requires very little attention to thrive in the proper situation. Partial sun will work but they will perform better regarding growth rate and blooming prowess in full sun. You should heavily water 2 times a week for 2-3 months after first planting, then your tree should be established and won’t need regular watering. Its blooming cycle begins very early in Spring, and sometimes even starts in late Winter. Deep pink blooms open on bare branches before the leaves emerge. Blooms dazzle on almost every inch of every branch. When the blooming ends, Okame still has aesthetic appeal with its lovely dark green leaves and beautiful branching structure. During Fall the color keeps coming as the leaves turn shades of yellow, orange, and red. Once the leaves have fallen, the beautifully textured reddish-bronze gives you appeal in Winter.
